How to care for your Maison Marrain leather bag
Caring for your leather tote bag or handbag is easy with the right products.
1. For easy and fast cleaning and repairing : Use a colorless leather cream or balm that you can find easily in your shoe repair shop or at the supermarket. Apply with a sponge or cloth for quick cleaning and buffing. For example "Baranne, cirage en crème, nourrit & protège".
2. For more thorough and lasting cleaning and repair : If your bag is particularly dirty, a leather cleaning product is a good first step, such as "Saphir cleaning lotion" followed by a conditioning product "Saphir Crème Délicate". Apply first the cleaning lotion all over with a sponge or cloth, then follow by repairing small scratches and end by polishing with a cream, polish or balm.
3. For repairing scratches and polishing : Use a colored polish or wax to reduce the visibility of scratches. Choose a color close to the bag, apply a small amount over the scratch, let it penetrate and dry for a few moments, then finish with a sponge, cloth, or polishing brush to distribute the product. 4. For conditioning : An all-in-one easy leather conditioning balm, such as "Baume de Vie" by Avel is a great product for leather maintenance. Use the sponge or cloth to apply the balm all over the bag rubbing in circular strokes. Allow a few moments for the product to penetrate and finish with a buffing brush if needed.
